Product description

Self-propelled patient transport trolley Vela (3 parts) with hydraulic height adjustment, HPL mattress platform and chassis with a fifth electric central wheel. This is a trolley that greatly facilitates the work of nurses when transporting patients through long hospital corridors for procedures.

Metal frame

The trolley structure is made of steel coated with epoxy polyester paint. The coating with antibacterial protection ensures long-term and effective protection against harmful bacteria, mold and fungi. The height is adjusted by two hydraulic telescopic columns. Three pedals on both sides of the trolley adjust the height, Trendelenburg and reverse-Trendelenburg positions. The easy-to-clean base frame is covered with a lid. The lid has a compartment for an oxygen cylinder with a belt, oxygen cylinders of various sizes (up to 7 liters). The lid also has two places for an infusion stand (with two hooks).

Mattress platform

The mattress platform consists of three parts made of X-ray-transparent HPL board. One-piece static mattress with rounded edges made of fire-resistant polyurethane foam (density 30 kg/m2), with attachment to the mattress platform. Cover made of elastic polyester and polyurethane fabric, latex-free, phthalate-free, fire-resistant, antibacterial, antifungal, antistatic, liquid-tight, breathable. The mattress is resistant to bending, abrasion, tearing and cleaning and disinfection processes. Easily removable cover with a zipper and a flap on three sides, preventing liquids from entering the mattress.

Beds

The backrest is adjustable with a gas spring. The adjustment lever is located around the head/back section so as not to interfere with the X-ray. The push handles on the head side can be lowered. The push handle on the foot side can be removed.

Side armrests

Foldable side armrests with quick-release function. The armrests, which when lowered, lower under the lying surface, make it easier to transfer the patient to the bed, as the gap between the bed and the wheelchair is minimized. The six-post armrests have an upper profile made of impact-resistant plastic, which has an integrated horizontal tilt angle indicator. The handrail of each post has two hooks at the base. The height of the handrails is 32 cm above the mattress platform. The impact-resistant plastic part of the wheelchair armrests acts as side bumpers. Four additional rubber bumpers are installed in the four corners of the wheelchair.

Chassis

Wheel base with antistatic system, consisting of four wheels with brakes, diameter 200 mm. Non-marking wheels, with central brake system, which allows simultaneous locking/unlocking of four wheels using pedals located on the sides of the wheelchair. The fifth wheel system with electric drive is located in the central part of the wheel base and consists of a pair of wheels. This allows the patient to be transported in complete safety and without any effort from the operator. The fifth wheel system, designed with an electromechanical parking brake, ensures braking, stopping and restarting on a ramp with a slope of up to 10° at full load. In the event of a failure of the electric wheel, the lever on the base can be used to disconnect the wheel from the motor and control the wheelchair manually. The shock absorption system allows you to maintain traction even on uneven surfaces and overcome small obstacles up to 25 mm. The fifth wheel system is battery-operated. Long-lasting and capacious batteries ensure a long range.

Electric motors

The battery charger is integrated into the electrical system and is powered by the mains voltage via the power cable. The charging cable is automatically wound into a special reel when not in use. The control unit, which activates the lowering and movement of the drive wheel, is mounted on the head side. The operator can very easily raise/lower the drive wheel using the electric control. If the trolley’s electric cable is still connected to the power socket, the fifth wheel lowering is blocked.

Controls

The steering device uses a very intuitive and sensitive control mounted on the push handle, which allows for very precise control of the movement speed even in small spaces. The control panel has an integrated sensor that is activated if the vehicle is moving in reverse. This system has been integrated to ensure the safety of the operator. Next to the controls, there is also an emergency button that cuts off the power and activates a quick stop in case of an emergency. Multi-colored LED strips are installed on the base of the trolley, which visually signal the system status and at the same time provide lighting in the trolley transport area.
