  • This is a great simulator to help novice healthcare students learn how to administer intramuscular injections. This simulator can always be demonstrated in the classroom or trained for groups of 1 to 30, offering both visual and tactile learning. The simulated bony structure is inserted into the torso and represents the upper end of the femur or the greater trochanter, the sacrum. The bony structure provides tangible anatomical landmarks for students to identify appropriate injection sites. A portion of the upper outer quadrant of the left gluteal region is cut away to allow students to visualize the underlying structures. The gluteal and gluteus maximus muscles, sciatic nerve and vascular structures are clearly depicted. Three types of intramuscular injections can be taught and practiced with this trainer: dorsogluteal, ventrogluteal and vastus lateralis injections. The textures of the skin and muscles, as well as the shape and position of the bones, closely resemble the living patient. As a result, tissue perforation with a needle gives the sensation of a real injection. A set of syringes and a hard carrying case are included.
